New labels = New Photos:

With the introduction of EU Allergen laws in December 2014 it has led all food service companies (and we are no exception) to change labels and in some cases take the opportunity to rebrand

Lets Rebrand:

Whilst changing labels we decided to review our complete product range.

We have decided to restyled our various catering supplies categories, mayonnaises, flavoured mayonnaises, dressings, sauces, bouillons and our Alfees range.

We had several considerations when doing this:

  • Making products and pack sizes visually more distinctive for ease of picking by catering suppliers & our end customers in busy kitchens
  • Not to look like everyone else. Our catering supplies taste much better than other brands so we want them to look unique
  • To have consistent branding amongst our print and online marketing materials

The final point is what leads to the most work. As anyone in the business of manufacturing catering supplies will tell you it all starts with the label.

Without the label catering suppliers cannot have their specification sheets, you cannot take or fake product shots and so then catalogues, brochures and websites all need to be updated.

So there you have it. We embraced the new EU allergen laws and all our catering suppliers (The Wheels) are happy. But it is amazing the amount of extra time it takes to get all the other elements of your business up to speed so that they are consistent

I would love to hear any of your own challenges or triumphs with allergen labelling.

I am 3rd generation sauce man, so the business is in my blood. Does that explain my low cholesterol? My principal role is marketing manager of Rich Sauces but I also regular help with testing, sampling, any general duties are gladly undertaken.
